DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • USF will look to find its groove in Moraga as the Dons have lost three of their last four games, most recently falling to LMU, 84-75, on Wednesday night at home. San Francisco made a season-high 37 free throws against the Lions, but ultimately struggled from the field, making a season-low 16 field goals on the night.
  • Despite the defeat, new program records were set on Wednesday night as Ryan Beasley shot 21-for-24 from the free throw line, marking the most made free throws and the most free throw attempts in a single game in program history. Beasley finished the night with 30 points, his second-career 30-point game and his second against LMU this season, while also tying his career-high with seven rebounds.
  • On a national scale, Beasley's 21 free throws are the most in a single game across Division I this season, and USF's 37 made free throws as a squad are tied for the sixth-most for a team across Division I in the 2025-26 campaign.
  • Adding to the green and gold's success from the charity stripe, Junjie Wang also set a new career-high in free throws, shooting 11-of-12 from the line en route to a 19-point night, good for the second-highest scoring game of his career.
  • After all 12 WCC teams played on Wednesday night, San Francisco currently sits in a four-way tie for the fourth-best record in conference play, with USF, Pacific, Oregon State, and Washington State all holding a 6-6 record conference record.
SCOUTING THE GAELS:
  • After falling at Gonzaga for the first time in three years on Saturday night, Saint Mary's (SMC) bounced back with a wire-to-wire victory over San Diego (USD), 87-60, on Wednesday night in the first contest of a three-game home stand. Six Gaels scored in double figures against USD, with freshman Dillan Shaw (14 points, 10 rebounds) and redshirt sophomore Andrew McKeever (12 points, 12 rebounds) each posting double-doubles against the Toreros.
  • Following its win over USF on the Hilltop in mid January, SMC has gone 3-2 since, suffering losses at Santa Clara (L, 62-54/Jan. 17) and at No. 6/6 Gonzaga (L, 73-65/Jan. 31). With a 9-2 record in WCC action, the Gaels currently sit in third in the conference standings behind the Broncos and the Bulldogs.
  • In the running for WCC Player of the Year, junior Paulius Murauskas has won two WCC Player of the Week awards in conference action (three overall) as the Lithuanian native ranks in the top ten in the conference in points per game (second, 18.8), free throw percentage (third, 86.4), field goal percentage (fifth, 48.6), and rebounds per game (sixth, 6.9) in WCC play.
  • Continuing to command the glass in conference action, McKeever leads the WCC in rebounding, grabbing 9.1 boards per game in league games. As a unit, the Gaels rank second in the conference in rebound margin, averaging 9.1 more rebounds than their opponents (Pacific, 9.4).
  • Defensively, Saint Mary's has kept its opponents at bay as it leads the conference in both opponent points per game and opponent three-point percentage in WCC play, with teams averaging just 65.1 points per game and shooting just 31.1 percent from deep against the Gaels.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Saturday night's nationally televised contest will see San Francisco and Saint Mary's face off for the 195th time in program history, with the Dons maintaining a 102-92 all-time series advantage. The two teams first matched up this season on Jan. 13, with SMC securing an 82-68 win over USF on the Hilltop. San Francisco will look to snap a 20-game losing streak at the home of the Gales, seeking its first victory in Moraga since Feb. 8, 2003.
