SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Following a series sweep of Seattle U last weekend,
Jayden Garrison of the University of San Francisco baseball team has been named Rawlings West Coast Conference Co-Freshman of the Week, announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Garrison posted a .300 batting average, with three hits in 10 at-bats, a double, a home run, three walks, and two RBI in San Francisco's three-game sweep of Seattle U. In the Dons' series clinching 6-5 extra-inning victory over the Redhawks on Saturday, Mar. 28, Garrison went two-for-three at the plate, including a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to secure the win. He also added two RBI, two walks, and scored two runs.
In 23 games this season, Garrison has registered a .207 batting average with seven extra-base hits and is a perfect three-for-three in stolen-base attempts.
For San Francisco, this weekly award marks the second for the team this season.
Thomas Gonzales was named WCC Freshman of the Week on February 23.
