Raphael, Beason Named to 2026 WCC Men's Soccer Preseason Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference (WCC) officially announced its Preseason Poll and Preseason Team for the upcoming 2026 men's soccer season on Tuesday afternoon.
For San Francisco, David Raphael and Brayden Beason were named to the WCC Men's Soccer Preseason Team. This marks the second straight season Raphael has earned this preseason honor.
As a team, the Dons were picked fourth in the poll with a total of 53 points, behind Portland (62 points/6 first-place votes), San Diego (55 points/2 first-place votes), and Denver 53 points/1 first-place vote).
Raphael has grown into one of the most dominant forwards in the conference and is coming off an All-WCC First Team selection in 2025. Notably, he was one of six Dons to appear in all 17 matches last year and one of two Dons to start in all of these matches for San Francisco. Finishing second on the team in total minutes (1,425), Raphael led USF and tied for fifth in the WCC in goals (8), while also tying for the team lead and tying for 15th in the WCC in assists (4). He also led the green and gold in points (20), shots (43), shots on goal (21), game-winning goals (3), and penalty kick goals (3-3). Raphael recorded two braces last fall, including his first collegiate brace in USF's 2-1 win over LMU on Oct. 26, 2025. In December, he was one of 45 players invited to the 2025 MLS College Showcase in Mesa, Ariz., alongside Beason.
Beason was also dynamic last season as he finished behind Raphael with seven goals, one assist, and 15 points. His 38 shots, 16 being on goal, also ranked second on the team and in the top ten in the conference. He also netted two game-winning goals in 2025. Similar to Raphael, Beason earned All-WCC First Team honors for his efforts. After his appearance in the MLS College Showcase, he was then drafted with the 73rd overall pick in the third round of the 2026 MLS SuperDraft on Dec. 18.
