2009 WEST COAST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC
2009 SEASON: Started 56 games as a senior...finished the season batting .353 (79-for-224) with 17 doubles,three triples, two homeruns, 30 RBI, 32 walks, 52 runs... led theteam, West Coast Conference, and was third in the nation with 42stolen bases... led the team in four other categories includinghits, doubles, walks, and triples... had two major hit streaks, an11-gamer (3/6-3/21) batting .420 and a 10-gamer (4/11-4/26) batting.417... started the season with two steals at University of Texas -San Antonio (2/20)... tripled and drove in two the next day(2/21)... doubled on a two-hit day at UTSA (2/22)... doubled twiceon a 3-for-4 day at UC Davis (2/24)... went 3-for-5 with a careerhigh four steals at UC Riverside (2/27)... doubled at Cal (3/4)...homered versus Texas Tech at the Palm Springs Tournament (3/6)...doubled and drove in two the next day versus Oklahoma State(3/7)... in final game of the tournament, went 3-for-4 and scoredtwice against Gonzaga (3/8)... had a 3-for-4 day with two steals atWashington (3/15)... had career high five hits with a double, ahomerun, and four RBI at New Mexico State (3/21)... tripled on a2-for-4 day versus Saint Mary's (4/3)... doubled and drove in a runon two hits the following day (4/4)... doubled, drove in a run, andstole two bases on a 3-for-5 day at Pacific (4/7)... had two hitsand two steals versus Santa Clara (4/17)... the next day had threehits and two steals (4/19)... walked three times and stole twobases against then No. 13 Cal Poly (5/2)... stole four bases andhad two hits against Pacific (5/5)... drove in two on two hits atSan Diego (5/9)... stole eight bags in a four game streak(5/10-5/16) including three each at San Diego State (5/11) andPortland (5/16)... doubled in three consecutive games; at San DiegoState (5/11) and twice at Portland (5/15-16).
2008 SEASON: Started 48 of 57 games played as ajunior... batted .303 with 13 doubles, one triple, and twohomeruns... was 11-for-15 in stolen bases, good for a first placetie on the team... in Dons second game of the year, smacked twodoubles at Hawai'I (2/23)... had a double and homerun with two runsscored and two RBI at Houston (3/15)... went 3-for-5 with a doubleversus Fresno State (3/18)... had two hits, two runs scored, andtwo RBI against Fairleigh Dickinson (3/20)... smacked a double atSaint Mary's (3/29)... went 4-for-9 (.444) with a double in a homeseries against Loyola Marymount (4/4-6)... had two hits and an RBIat Pepperdine (4/13)... went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scoredand three RBI at Stanford (4/16)... had two hits, two runs scoredand two RBI versus Sacramento State... had a double in fourconsecutive games (4/23-27)... smoked a homerun at Gonzaga (5/3)...went 3-for-5 with a triple against San Diego (5/11)... ended theseason with an eight game hit streak, batting .440 (11-for-25) witha triple, five runs scored and two RBI.
2007 SEASON: Played in 46 games, making 20starts... connected on 28 hits in 78 at-bats for a team high .359batting average... hit in three runs while going 2-for-3 in USF's15-6 win over Cal (2/13)... hit a pinch hit homerun off MississippiState's Josh Johnson (3/11)... collected three hits in a 10-6 lossto San Jose State (3/13)... went 1-for-1 with one RBI in 13-5 winover Southern Utah (3/24)... went 1-for-3 with one RBI in 8-1victory versus Sacramento State (4/10)... was 4-for-4 with one RBIand one run scored against Gonzaga (4/29)... finished 2-for-3 withone run scored against San Diego (5/5)... knocked in two RBI inUSF's 11-1 win over Saint Mary's (5/11).
2006 SEASON: Appeared in 45 games with 32starts as a red-shirt freshman... collected first career hitagainst Sacramento State (2/11)... went 6-for-12 with four RBI, tworuns scored, a walk and a stolen base in a series at Southern Utah(2/17-18)... was 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and two stolen basesagainst Georgetown (3/11)... hit first career home run (3/18) andfirst career triple (3/19) at New Mexico... went 1-for-4 with ahome run, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base against UtahValley State (3/22)... doubled and scored at Oral Roberts (3/25)and the next day had two hits and an RBI (3/26)... went 2-for-4with a double, three RBI, and a run scored at Santa Clara(4/2).
2005 SEASON: Redshirted
PREP CAREER: Played three years of varsitybaseball at Castro Valley High School... named All-AlamedaNewspaper Group second team and named All-Hayward Area AthleticLeague twice.
PERSONAL: Born on May 10, 1986 in San Mateo,CA... nickname is 'Z'... son of Mitchell Kim and Marjorie Kimme...both parents are USF alums and Mitchell played baseball for theDons... goal for the season is to lead by example and push the teamto its full potential... chose USF for the education, location, andcoaching staff... thinks the best thing about being a studentathlete is the personal relationships between the students andstaff... would like to be Stephen Spielberg for a day... would liketo earn his Business MBA after graduation... favorite movie is TheUsual Suspects... favorite book is Deception Point by Dan Brown...majoring in Business Administration.
