REDSHIRT: Sat out 2000-01 after surgery to remove bone spursfrom his foot...played during summer tour of Canary Islands and Spain.

HIGH SCHOOL: Son of former USF star Chubby Cox and cousin of Los Angeles Lakers' star Kobe Bryant...as a senior he was named all-state first team...his career total of 1,798 points is the ninth highest total in Philadelphia history... as a senior he averaged 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, shot 52% from the floor and 85% from the free-throw line...John was named Markwood Player of the Year and was a Scholastic Athlete.
