Dons Sweep Final Day Of UniWyo Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of San Francisco women's volleyball team finished second at the UniWyo Invitational Saturday, as the Dons swept both of their matches. For their efforts, sophomore Valentina Zaloznik and senior Jocelyn Levig were named to the All-Tournament team.

"We learned more about our selves today," said head coach Gilad Doron.  "We need somet things well but there's obviously things we can always work on. We got wins but we need to be better prepared for next weekend in Hawaii and the rest of the season.We had our strong points but we need to play better as a team. Overall it was a good weekend. It's one of the best starts we have had and it can help us build confidence and momentum."

San Francisco 3, Seattle 0
In the first match of the day, the Dons (3-1) took quick care of the Seattle Redbirds 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-18). San Francisco went out to an early lead in the first set, 8-3, before Seattle would rally for five straight points to tie the score 8-8. The Dons rebounded well easily crusining to the victory, including holding a demanding nine point lead in the second set.

Leading the Green and Gold against Seattle was Ester DeVries. The freshamn scored a match-high 12 kills to post a .360 hitting percentage. Levig fell just shy of double-digit kills with eight.

Leanna Ludes and Rebecca Kopilovitch added double digits with 29 assists and 19 digs, respectively. Hadley Simmons and Anja Segota added three blocks each for San Francisco.

San Francisco 3, Presbyterian 0
San Francisco continued to roll in the second match of the day, making quick work of Presbyterian 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-16). The two teams played close in the opening set as neither team held more than a two point advantage. San Francisco prevailed late the take the set and control the remainder of the match. The Dons held the lead all but twice for the rest of the match.

Levig continued her strong afternoon, posting 10 kills while Zaloznik added 11. Whitney Swain recorded 11 digs and Ludes posted 24 assists. 

Defensively, Simmons added three more blocks as did Alycia Cox.

For the tournament, Levig posted 49 kills, 24 digs and six blocks.  Zaloznik added 34 kills and nine blocks to take home the All-Tournament honors.

The Dons will return to the court Friday as they travel to face Hawaii in Honolulu. The Dons will also face California and Baylor during their trip to the Islands.
