Watch the Video SAN FRANCISCO – USF freshman goalkeeper
Andre Glasnovic has been named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Glasnovic (Zagreb, Croatia) helped keep the Dons' WCC title hopes alive by recording five saves at San Diego to record the shutout and preserve the scoreless draw. Glasnovic's third shutout of the season came when the Dons needed it the most - on the road against the conference's top team. Glasnovic was able to record the clean sheet through 110 minutes facing a determined San Diego offensive attack that saw the Toreros outshoot USF 24-8 and hold a 15-1 advantage in corner kicks on the night.
This is the first player of the week honor for Glasnovic, and the second consecutive player of the week nod for the Dons following
David Garrett last week.
Overall on the year, Glasnovic has started 14 of the 15 matches he's appeared in, tallying 59 saves, which places him second in the WCC. Glasnovic boasts a 0.63 goals against average in WCC play and a .810 save percentage in conference action, both of which rank second.
Glasnovic will mind the net in the regular season finale as the Dons (6-10-1, 4-1-1) host Loyola Marymount (8-9-0, 3-3-0) at 6 p.m. at Negoesco Stadium needing a victory and a San Diego loss to have a shot at the WCC crown.
