Frankie Ferrari was named a candidate for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award announced on Friday.
Sixty NCAA men's and women's basketball student-athletes who excel both on and off the court were selected as candidates for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate basketball. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Ferrari earned his degree in communications in the spring and is currently working on a master's degree in Sports Management. The native of Burlingame, Calif., is fresh off a junior campaign in which he earned First Team All-West Coast Conference honors after being the third player in USF history to score more than 450 points and dish out 150 assists.
This season, Ferrari has the Dons off to their best start in 37 years at 7-0. He is ninth in the nation in assist to turnover ratio and 25
th in assists per game. Ferrari is averaging 11.3 points per game, while shooting 42.2 percent from the field.
