Facing the Wolfpack: Nevada holds the edge on the Dons in the 117 prior meetings. However, last year the Dons swept the season series against the Wolfpack. In the first matchup of 2017, USF hosted Nevada and beat them handedly, 7-1. A week later the Dons traveled to Reno to take on the Wolfpack. It was a closer game, but the Dons came out on top, winning 9-6.
Slominski's first start: Junior
Daniel Slominski will get the nod for the Dons in his first start of the season, having made five appearances so far this season. Slominski came on in relief on Sunday in the Dons' 7-6 win over Pacific. In 2018 he has thrown four full innings, striking out four in that span.
Home stand coming to a close: The Dons longest home stand of the season is coming to a close on Tuesday, with USF boasting a 6-2 record coming into the game against Nevada.
West Coast Conference Sweep: In the opening West Coast Conference series against Pacific, the Dons swept the Tigers in a three-game set. The USF offense was potent throughout the series, scoring nine runs in the first two games. The last game was decided on a walk-off single by
Tyler Villaroman, earning the Dons a 7-6 win and clinching the sweep.
