SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (7-7) fell to UMass Lowell (3-6) 6-4 Sunday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco scored to open a 2-0 early lead in the bottom of the second as Isaiah Landry tripled to right field, scoring Jared Lewis and Zack Ramppen.
- After UMass Lowell gained a 3-2 advantage, the green and gold regained the lead at 4-3 in the sixth on Lewis' two-run infield single, plating Jackson Nystrom and Trevor Harmon.
- The River Hawks scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to go ahead 6-4 and kept the Dons scoreless in the final two frames to secure the victory.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Quentin Pohorski earned his first-career start and threw four innings, giving up two runs on two hits, with three walks and four strikeouts.
- Landry and Lewis paced the Dons at the plate, with Landry going one-for-four with a triple and two RBI. Lewis also tallied a two-RBI performance while recording a hit and scoring a run.
- Despite the loss, San Francisco outhit UMass Lowell 9-8. Seven players record a base hit for the green and gold, while TJ Rogers and Ramppen registered multi-hit performances.
