The University of San Francisco men's basketball team will take on the No. 5 seed Pacific Tigers for the third time this season, this time at the Orleans Arena, site of the West Coast Conference Championships. Souley Boum, who recently earned all-conference honors, lead the Dons, Boum is tops on the squad averaging 11.6 points per game, while Ferrari averages 11.3. Pacific earned the No. 5 seed after sweeping the season series against San Diego. They enter Saturday's contest having lost three-straight including an 84-74 loss at the hands of the Dons on Feb. 22 in Stockton, Calif., despite Roberto Gallinat's career-high in which he scored 41 points.

Souley Boum both earned all-wcc accolades when the conference announced them on Tuesday. Ferrari was named to the first team with Boum earning all-freshman honors. Ferrari becomes the first Don since Cole Dickerson in 2012-13 to be named to the All-WCC First Team for his first all-conference honors.

Kyle Smith the Dons set the single season record for made 3-point field goals with 299. In Smith's second season the Dons have once again lit it up from beyond the arc, making 257 3-point field goals which ranks second all-time at USF. The previous high was set in 2012-13 when the Dons made 249. This season, USF ranks 87th in the nation with 257 made threes. They have made seven or more 3-point field goals 21 times this season.

Year Two Under Smith
Under second year head coach
Kyle Smith, the Dons finished 9-9 in the WCC. Smith becomes the first head coach of the Dons to post back-to-back non-losing seasons on the Hilltop since Dan Belluomini finished 12-2 and 11-5 in back-to-back seasons in 1979 and 1980. The last time the Dons posted back-to-back non-losing seasons in the WCC came in 2011-12 when former coach Rex Walters went 10-4 in 2011 and 8-8 in 2012.
Series History with Pacific
Saturday's contest against Pacific will be the 105th time the Dons and Tigers have squared off. The series dates back to 1911. Over the last 10 games, the Dons have gone 9-1 against the Tigers, including four of the last five. The Dons swept the season series this season against UOP, defeating the Tigers 84-74 on Feb. 22 in Stockton. The two teams have met in the Orleans Arena before, with the Dons winning 62-58 in the opening round of the WCC Tournament on Mar. 6, 2015.
