Last time against Pepperdine: Earlier this month the Dons travelled to Malibu, Calif. to take on the Waves in a three-game conference series. USF would get off to a great start in the series, with
Thomas Ponticelli throwing 7 2/3 innings before
Brendan Jenkins would come in to earn the save in a 6-4 win.
Ponti Thursday's: After getting a week off on the mound will be getting the honors to take the hill in the first game against Pepperdine. The junior earned the lone win in USF's series against the Waves at the beginning of the month. So far this year, Ponticelli has been the good to Friday starter for USF and will look to continue his success against Pepperdine this Thursday to get USF into the winner's bracket.
All-WCC Team: The Dons had five athletes named to the All-WCC teams this season, as announced by the League this afternoon.
Riley Helland,
Riley Ornido and
Michael Perri took top honors from the Dons, with the three being named to the first-team. Juniors
Jonathan Allen and
Thomas Ponticelli earned conference distinction, as well, with Ponticelli being named to the second-team and Allen getting honorable mention distinction.
Senior Day Success: For the second consecutive year, the Dons earned a win on senior day. USF took on Kansas State in the final game of a three-game series, winning 7-5 over the Wildcats from the Big-12.
Landen Bourassa put in another solid performance, going six innings and allowing no earned runs.
