RENO, Nev. – In a high-scoring game, the University of San Francisco baseball team (12-11) dropped a 14-9 nonconference decision at Nevada (14-8) Tuesday afternoon at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco scored the game's opening run in the top of the first, when TJ Rogers came across to score on a Jackson Nystrom single to centerfield.
- Isaiah Landry added to the Dons' lead the following frame with an RBI double down the left-field line, scoring Jordan Lewis, for a 2-0 advantage.
- After Nevada trimmed the deficit in half, the green and gold scored twice at the top of the third, pushing the lead to 4-1, on RBI singles from Matteo Bellissimo and Lewis.
- The Wolf Pack followed with 13 unanswered runs in the bottom of the third, fourth, and sixth innings to take its first lead at 14-4.
- Despite a late push in the later innings, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Brendan Burke, the Dons fell short in their lone midweek contest, 14-9.Â
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Every San Francisco starter reached base safely throughout the contest, while eight players total recorded a hit.
- Three players registered multi-hit games for the green and gold, highlighted by Eddison Esquivel and Landry combining for four hits, two extra-base hits, two RBI, and four runs scored. Lewis also posted two singles in five at-bats, an RBI, and scored a run.
- Burke recorded his second home run of the season, a three-run shot over the left-field wall. His three RBI on the swing also marked a career-high for the sophomore catcher.
- Thomas Gonzales earned his second-career start on the mound and pitched 2.0 solid innings, allowing one run on two hits and one walk.
- Paul Wheeler pitched in his sixth appearance out of the bullpen, giving up one hit in 1.1 frames. In his last two outings, Wheeler has tossed 3.0 scoreless innings while allowing four hits and striking out two batters.
- As a team at the plate, San Francisco went six-for-12 (.500) with runners in scoring position.Â
