SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Three members of the University of San Francisco men's soccer team took home all-conference accolades as announced by the conference off on Tuesday afternoon. Earning All-WCC Honorable mention was forward Jonan Van Der Werf, meanwhile, freshmen
Jaidon Reynolds and
Nathan Simeon earned WCC All-Freshmen Team honors.
For Van Der Werf, the Honorable Mention honors ends his remarkable season playing for the green and gold. A graduate student transfer, he played in 15 matches, making 12 starts up front for the Dons. In 1046 minutes played, he finished the season tied for the team lead with two goals, his .412 shots on goal percentage was second best on the Dons by a player with a minimum of 10 shots.
Midfielder
Jaidon Reynolds appeared in 17 games making 14 starts, the native of Toronto, Ontario made his USF debut on Aug. 30 against Seattle U. He finished the year with four points on one goal and two assists. He tallied his first collegiate goal on Nov. 9 against Pacific in the heavy fog at Negoesco Stadium.
Defender
Nathan Simeon played in 15 games, starting all 15 for the Dons. He logged a team-leading 1,344 minutes anchoring a strong defensive unit for USF. He played at least 78 minutes in every WCC contest for the Dons this season, including all 100 minutes in the overtime game against Pacific on Nov. 9.
Reynolds and Simeon highlight a young core that boasts 14 returners next year who were either freshmen or sophomores this season.
