SPOKANE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco women's golf team continued its hike up the leaderboard on the final day and will finish the West Coast Conference Championships in third place, after shooting a 36-over 888 (310-286-292) for the tournament. The Dons once again shot well, finishing the round with an 8-over 292.
USF finishes the season with its second best score over 54 holes for the season; the 888 trailed only the 877 carded at the Las Vegas Collegiate International. The Dons had two golfers crack the top-10, led by freshman
Annika Borrelli, who was the top freshman in the tournament, and junior
Samantha Gong who once again made a dramatic climb on the board to finish at a tie for eighth.

Annika Borrelli as she will finish top three as a freshman and cap off a really great freshman season. She looked steady all day long and I'm very proud of her efforts this week. Sam finished top 10 with a solid second and third round. We are proud of the way she bounced back from a tough first round, and I know that this energy will bring her into a strong senior season. All in all, the team ended on a solid note and we look forward to seeing how we can bring this energy into next fall. With the fact that we are not graduating anyone from our lineup and we are also bringing in two solid freshmen – the future looks bright for the Dons!"
In the third and final round Borrelli maintained her steady brilliant play. She finished with a 1-over 72 on the afternoon. For the tournament, the Alamo, Calif., native finished the three day affair with a 4-over 217 (74-71-72). She recorded a pair of birdies on the day, giving her eight for the tournament, which was tied for third most.
Gong opened the tournament with an 11-over 82. From that point on she climbed 16 spots on the leaderboard, finishing the tournament with a 10-over 223 (82-70-71). She is one of two players in the tournament to score two rounds of par or better. She finished the final day with an even par 71 after recording four birdies to give her 10 for the tournament which was second-most after 54 holes.
Sophomore
Pearl Rojanapeansatith finished just outside the top-10 in a five-way tie for 13
th. She finished the tournament with a 12-over 225 (76-73-76). This week's round caps off a tremendous sophomore campaign. The top-20 finish in her first WCC Championship gives her four top-20 finishes for the season, which led the Dons.
Fellow sophomore
Joan Soewondo was one of the five that tied for 13
th. Soewondo finished the tournament with a 12-over 225 (79-72-74). She finished the tournament with five birdies. This is Soewondo's second career top-15 finish in the WCC Championships.
Freshman
Jade Siphomsay continued to improve over the course of the tournament. She finished just outside the top-20 at 21s with a 20-over 233 (81-77-75). Her final round of four over saw her climb two spots on the leaderboard. Siphomsay finished strong with an even-par back-9 after recording birdies on 13 and 15.
No. 28 Pepperdine took home the team title--they finished with a 25-over 877 (298-294-285). Their 285 was a WCC record for a team score in an individual round. The individual medalist was the Waves' Hira Naveed who finished with a 1-under 212 (74-70-68); she was the only player under par for the tournament.
