USF Athletics Announces Men's + Women's Basketball Doubleheader at Chase Center

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – In conjunction with the Golden State Warriors and Chase Center, University of San Francisco Athletics officially announced a men's and women's basketball double-header featuring the Dons is set to take place on Saturday, November 13 at Chase Center.

Returning to Chase Center for the first time since 2019, the women will tip-off against the University of California, Berkeley at 2:30 p.m., followed by the men facing Davidson University at 5:30 p.m. This will be a single-admission double-header, so fans will only need to buy one ticket to watch both games. This marks the second time both USF teams will play at Chase Center as they became the first collegiate teams to play in the arena in 2019 when they hosted Stanford and Princeton.

The general public on-sale begins September 28 at 10:00 a.m. Fans will be able to purchase tickets by visiting chasecenter.com

Overall, the men's team returns three of their five starters from last season, including the backcourt of All-WCC talents Jamaree Bouyea and Khalil Shabazz. Notably, the Dons will aim to build off their success from last year, which included an early season upset over No. 4 Virginia. For third-year head coach Todd Golden, USF will welcome six new student-athletes to the roster, which consists of five Division I transfers and one true freshman. Overall, it will mark the first meeting all-time between Davidson and USF.

After being picked to finish tenth in the conference last preseason, the USF women's basketball program shattered expectations by finishing third in the final WCC regular season standings before earning their first postseason appearance since 2016 with a trip to the WNIT. Individually, the Dons will be highlighted by 2021-22 WCC Newcomer of the Year Ioanna Krimili, who also earned All-WCC First Team and All-WCC Freshman Team honors last season. Overall, USF is led by sixth year head coach Molly Goodenbour, who was a two-time national champion at Stanford.

Davidson, the alma mater of two-time NBA MVP and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, is entering its eighth season as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Wildcats finished the COVID-altered 2020-21 campaign 13-9 overall, which included a trip to the postseason NIT. The Wildcats are set to return three starters, including 6-7 guard Hyunjung Lee, the first Wildcat to shoot at least 50 percent from the field (.508), 40 percent from 3-point range (.442) and 90 percent from the foul line (.90) in a season. The rising junior is the team's top returning scorer, with a 13.5 points per game average last season. The Wildcats are coached by Bob McKillop, who is entering his 33rd season at the helm. The 10-time conference coach of the year has a career record of 607-373, while leading Davidson to 18 postseason appearances.

Cal enters year three in the Charmin Smith era with plenty to be excited about. The Golden Bears return all five starters from last year's squad, including Dalayah Daniels, Leilani McIntosh, Evelien Lutje Schipholt, and Ugonne (Michelle) Onyiah. Cal returns 97 percent of its scoring and 82.8 percent of its rebounding from last year's team.
