SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco baseball program and first-year head coach Rob DiToma announced their full schedule for the upcoming 2023 season on Friday afternoon.
USF's schedule features 50 regular season games with an evenly split 25 games on the Hilltop and 25 matchups on the road. The Dons will begin their season at home with a four-game series against the Pac-12's Utah Utes beginning on Thursday, Feb. 17. Following the opening series, USF will spend the rest of the month on the road starting with a four-game set against the CSUN Matadors beginning on Feb. 24 and will wrap up the month with a one game road matchup at Fresno State on Feb. 28.
"It's always an exciting time when the schedule gets released," DiToma said. "This schedule brings many challenges and we continue to work everyday to be prepared for those challenges. We are very much looking forward to opening our season right here at Benedetti Diamond on February 17th. Personally, I am intrigued to see how the hard work and effort our players and coaching staff have put in translates eto the extremely tough competition we are set to face in 2023."
The Dons return to the Hilltop in early March as they will welcome the Villanova Wildcats for a three game series beginning on Friday, March 3 followed by a two-game set against the Yale Bulldogs starting on Saturday, March 11. Immediately following that series, USF will head north to Pullman for a midweek game against the Washington State Cougars on Wednesday, March 15 before they begin WCC play in Spokane at Gonzaga on Friday, March 17.
Following their trip to the Pacific Northwest, USF returns back to Benedetti Diamond for a Tuesday midweek battle against the Nevada Wolfpack on March 21. Shortly thereafter, the green and gold will host their first conference series of the season as they welcome the Loyola Marymount Lions to the Hilltop for a three game series beginning on Friday, March 24.
USF closes out the regular season with five straight home games in May starting with a pair of Tuesday matchups with Northern California schools - San Jose State on Tuesday, May 9 and UC Davis Aggies a week later on May 16. The Dons will conclude the 2023 regular season by hosting the Portland Pilots beginning on Friday, May 19 with the season wrapping up on Sunday, May 21.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the top six teams in the WCC standings will head to the Central Valley to compete in the 2023 West Coast Conference Tournament at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton from May 24-27.

Overall, USF will return 23 letter winners from their team a year ago, including 2022 All-WCC selections
Mario DeMera,
Adam Shew and
Harris Williams III. Last season, the Dons finished with a 28-29 overall record, including a 14-13 mark in conference play as the green and gold grabbed the sixth seed to advance to the WCC Tournament for the first time since 2017.
