
Baseball Powers Past Saint Mary's to Secure Series Win

MORAGA, Calif. – Guided by a stellar offensive team performance, the University of San Francisco baseball team (24-27, 15-11) secured the series victory over Saint Mary's (29-24, 14-12) with a 10-3 win Friday evening at Louis Guisto Field.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- In a similar fashion to Thursday's series opener, San Francisco jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Jackson Nystrom kicked off the scoring with an RBI single, plating Jared Lewis for a 1-0 advantage. Zack Ramppen added a sacrifice fly, and Tyler Harries laced an RBI single up the middle to give the Dons a three-run cushion.
- The Dons extended the lead in the following frame, as TJ Rogers registered an RBI triple and later scored on a Trevor Harmon base hit to shallow left field for a 5-0 advantage.
- Breaking the game open at 7-0 in the top of the third, Isaiah Landry plated Harries, and Rogers added an RBI double.
- Saint Mary's put runs on the board in the home half of the fourth and fifth innings, trimming its deficit to 7-2.
- Trailing 8-3 in the sixth inning, Ian Armstrong recorded his league-leading 13th home run of the season to get the Gaels to within 8-3.
- Harries reached double digits in the top of the ninth inning when Harries looped a double to left field, scoring Harmon and Eddison Esquivel to solidify the scoring for the green and gold at 10-3.
- Six of the nine players who earned an at-bat for San Francisco throughout the contests posted multi-hit performances, led by Lewis, Harmon, and Harries with three apiece. Lewis went three-for-six at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Harries posted a three-for-five outing with two doubles, three RBI, and a run scored. Harmon added three hits in five at-bats with one extra-base knock, an RBI, and scored one run.
- Rogers went two-for-five and recorded his first triple of the season while driving in two runs.
- On the mound, Gauge Lockhart allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three batters in five frames to earn his third win of the season.
- Quentin Pohorski recorded a team-high four strikeouts in the final four innings of the game and picked up his seventh save of the season.

San Francisco looks to complete the sweep of Saint Mary's in the regular-season finale at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Louis Guisto Field.
