Men's Basketball Reveals 2022-23 Conference Schedule

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Fresh off of their first NCAA tournament appearance in 24 years, the University of San Francisco men's basketball team and the West Coast Conference officially announced their conference schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season on Tuesday afternoon.

Beginning towards the end of the calendar year, USF will embark on their 16-game conference slate on Thursday, Dec. 29 when they make the trip to the South Bay for a showdown at Santa Clara. Notably, the Dons will wrap up their conference schedule on Saturday, Feb. 25 with a road trip to Provo, Utah for a matchup with BYU.

Overall, Chris Gerlufsen enters his first year at the helm of the green and gold after taking over for former USF head coach Todd Golden. Individually, the Dons will return two-time All-WCC guard Khalil Shabazz along with veterans Josh Kunen, Julian Rishwain, Zane Meeks and Volodymyr Markovetskyy, who all played key roles in USF's rotation in 2021-22.

In total, the conference schedule will be composed of 16 games, with USF facing Pepperdine only once at home while also squaring off against Loyola Marymount only on the road. Last season, the Dons finished 10-6 in WCC play, which tied for third with Santa Clara in the final regular season standings. Impressively, USF won their first game in the WCC Tournament for the third straight season as the Dons downed BYU, 75-63, before advancing to the semifinal round.

Tip-off times and television partners for the 2022-23 season will be announced a later date.
