SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that USF junior forward
Kaylin Lunsford was named the WCC's Women's Offensive Player of the Week following her tremendous week at home against Baylor and #16 SMU.
Lunsford had a career afternoon last Thursday when the Dons hosted the Baylor Bears netting a hat trick with two goals in the first 11 minutes of play before securing her third goal after halftime.
USF's offense was clicking all week as the Dons posted an undefeated week against two high-quality non-conference opponents and defended their home field.
Lunsford marks the second Don to receive the weekly award this season to lead the conference, as
Marissa Vasquez was named player of the week after the first week of the season as she recorded a hat trick of her own in the season opening victory over Portland State.
Also nominated: Nayeli Diaz, Saint Mary's; Carlee Giammona, Pepperdine; Brecken Mozingo, BYU; Giana Riley, Gonzaga; Nedya Sawan, Portland; Josefine Schlichting, San Diego; Farrah Walters, Santa Clara
