SAN MATEO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference officially announced their end of season awards for the 2022-23 women's basketball season on Wednesday morning.
For the San Francisco Dons, redshirt junior guard
Ioanna Krimili was selected to her third consecutive All-WCC First Team following another tremendous campaign on the Hilltop. Senior forward
Kennedy Dickie was named to her second consecutive All-WCC Second Team while senior guard
Jasmine Gayles was named the WCC's Sixth Woman of the Year as both played tremendous roles in leading USF to a 19-11 record in the regular season.
Krimili's fourth season on the Hilltop was a historic campaign that saw her become the program's all-time leader in made three-point shots (275), climb to fourth all-time in the USF scoring list (1,772) and is now top ten in Dons' history for made free throws (315). Ioanna was a key piece to the Dons' offense with her ability to score the ball from all levels while leading her team to key wins as she was awarded the WCC's Player of the Week three times during the 2022-23 regular season. This season, Krimili had four games where she scored 30 or more points and set the high water mark for the season by scoring 35 points against Penn in a win at home when she became USF's all-time three-point field goal leader on Nov. 21.
Providing a constant presence in the USF front court, Dickie played in all 30 games for the Dons while ranking fourth in the WCC in rebounds per game (8.0) to make her second consecutive All-WCC Second Team. Doing tremendous work on the glass and spreading the floor with her shooting ability, Kennedy recorded nine double-doubles on the season including ending the regular season by recording double digit points and rebounds in three of her team's last four games. Helping her team to pick up a big conference road win, Dickie scored a season-high 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help USF knock off Saint Mary's on Feb. 9.
Serving as an instant spark plug for her team, Gayles averaged 10.3 PPG while excelling at rebounding and getting to the free throw line with her aggressive moves to the basket as she was named the WCC's Sixth Woman of the Year. Setting the tone for her season, Jasmine recorded a 23 points and 11 rebounds double-double as the Dons were able to take down Cal State East Bay in the season-opener back on Nov. 7. Helping her team end their non-conference schedule on a high note as well, Gayles was able to match her season best by scoring 23 points and scored a season-high nine field goals to help USF take down Colorado State on the road back on Dec. 10.
