SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The 45
th ranked University of San Francisco men's golf team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year as the Dons have earned the No. 8 seed in the Las Vegas Regional of the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Tournament.
USF will be joined in the field by the following: Arizona State (1 seed), Stanford (2 seed), Virginia (3 seed), Oklahoma State (4 seed), Northwestern (5 seed), Earth Tennessee State (6 seed), Cincinnati (7 seed), UNC Greensboro (9 seed), Long Beach State (10 seed), Oregon State (11 seed), Davidson (12 seed), Kansas City (13 seed) and Lehigh (14 seed).
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 15-17. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Arizona State and The Thunderbirds are the hosts for the 2023 championships.
USF will be making their ninth overall appearance in the NCAA Regionals. In 2021, USF earned their highest seed in school history as the green and gold were awarded a No. 5 seed for the Cle Elum Regional. Last year, the Dons were selected as a No. 10 seed for the Columbus Regional.

Jackson Rothwell joined
Matthew Anderson,
Harry Brown and
Paramdeep Sodhi to continue their mission towards a national championship.
Recently, USF brought home some hardware as Anderson earned WCC All-Conference honors for the first time while Melin was tabbed the 2022-23 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year in addition to earning being named an Honorable Mention. Furthermore, Partridge joined Melin on the Honorable Mention list after an impressive first year on the Hilltop. As a team, USF finished in second place at the 2023 West Coast Conference Championship at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash. last weekend, just one stroke shy of champion BYU.
