DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco returns to action for the first time since last Wednesday, Oct. 9 when the green and gold played its first ever conference game at Oregon State. Ultimately, the Dons fell on the road to the Beavers, 2-0, at Paul Lorenz Field. Despite the defeat, Kira Ybarra tallied five saves in the match, the second-highest single-game mark for the goalkeeper this season.
- Atop the stat sheet, Kaitlyn Sasadeusz (29) and Lindsey Chau (22) have totaled the most shots for San Francisco individually. Notably, Chau has logged three or more shots in five matches this season, with three of those performances coming in the last six outings for the green and gold.
- In the cage, Ybarra is averaging 4.25 saves per game in WCC play, good for fifth-most amongst goalies.
SCOUTING THE GAELS:
- Saint Mary's returns home this weekend following a two-game road trip as the Gaels went 0-1-1 in their last two matches against Washington State (L, 1-0) and Gonzaga (T, 1-1) last week.
- Leading the way for the Gaels offensively, Tessa Salvestrin has scored three of SMC's five goals in WCC action. Most recently, Salvestrin scored the game-tying goal last week against Gonzaga, tying her for the second-most goals by an individual in conference play with three.
- In goal, sophomore Kate Plachy ranks fourth in the WCC in both goals against average (1.20) and save percentage (.769) in conference action.
SERIES HISTORY:
Saturday's match between San Francisco and Saint Mary's will mark the 41st meeting all-time between the two programs as the Gaels hold a 24-15-2 advantage in the head-to-head series. Notably, San Francisco has won its last two matches against SMC, but the green and gold are looking for their first win in Moraga since Oct. 5, 2019.
