SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After leading the University of San Francisco women's basketball team to two wins last week, including a dominating performance against Gonzaga to open conference play,
Debora dos Santos has been named Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league Monday morning.
Averaging a double-double in two contests, dos Santos finished the week with 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds, with 1.5 steals and 3.0 blocks per game. Returning to form in the narrow 67-64 win over Arizona State on Tuesday, Dec. 17, dos Santos recorded her first double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds on 55.6 percent (five-for-nine) from the field.
Reaching double-figure scoring in back-to-back games, she added 15 points while going a perfect three-for-three from the three-point line in the win over Gonzaga on Thursday, Dec. 19. Overall, she shot 55.6 percent (five-for-nine) and went two-for-four at the free-throw line.
Guiding the green and gold defensively, dos Santos secured eight rebounds and matched her career-high in blocks with four and two steals.
For San Francisco, the honor marks the second weekly award for the team this season.
