SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – After leading the University of San Francisco women's basketball team with back-to-back 20-point double-double performances,
Debora dos Santos has been named Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the conference Monday morning.
In two league games last week, dos Santos averaged a double-double with 22.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field. Defensively, she added three steals and one block throughout the week.
Leading San Francisco in the team's road win over Pepperdine on Thursday, Feb. 1, dos Santos finished the game with a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds. Lethal from the interior, while knocking down her lone three-point attempt, dos Santos shot 78.6 percent from the floor, connecting on a career-high 11 made field goals.
Dos Santos followed with another high-end performance at San Diego on Saturday, Feb. 3, scoring 20 points and 11 collecting rebounds for her league-best 13th double-double of the season. She also set a career-high at the free throw line against the Toreros, going a perfect eight-for-eight from the charity stripe.
In nine WCC games this season, dos Santos ranks fifth in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game, while leading the league in rebounding at 11.6 per game. Dos Santos continues to be the lone WCC member averaging a double-double on the season, as she has totaled 14.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game through 22 contests.
Overall, this marks the third weekly WCC honor by a Don this season, as
