SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Director of Athletics Larry Williams announced on Tuesday that Pinder Nijjar has had the interim tag removed from his title and has been hired as head coach of the women's soccer program.
 
Prior to the 2024, Williams named Nijjar interim head coach on Aug. 1 after former head coach Jim Millinder retired following eleven years at the helm of the Dons. With his appointment, Nijjar becomes the sixth head coach in program history.
 
"I can't thank Larry Williams enough for the opportunity to lead this program," said Nijjar. "I'd like to once again show my appreciation to Jim Millinder for his guidance throughout all of my years on the Hilltop and for giving me my first opportunity at the collegiate level. Our program is full of amazing student-athletes that I am excited to continue to work with as our staff aims to push the team to their highest potential. This university and this program is a part of my family and I am extremely humbled to be given this opportunity."
 
Nijjar, who joined the program as a volunteer assistant in December 2015, had led San Francisco to a 3-4 record this year, including back-to-back shutout wins over UC San Diego (Aug. 18) and Northeastern (Aug. 22). During his time with the green and gold, Nijjar has specialized in working with forwards and midfielders. 
 
Looking ahead, San Francisco will wrap up their home stand this Thursday, Sept. 19 when the Dons host San José State at 6:00 pm. Tickets for the match can be purchased here.
