Broncos Best Dons on Saturday to Even Series

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (11-12, 1-1 WCC) dropped a 13-0 seven-inning league decision at Santa Clara (9-10, 1-1 WCC) Saturday afternoon at Stephen Schott Stadium.

- Despite TJ Rogers notching San Francisco's first hit of the game with a single in the top of the opening frame, Santa Clara set the tone with eight runs in the bottom half of the first to take a commanding 8-0 advantage.
- After two scoreless innings, the Broncos added three more runs to stretch their advantage to 11-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
- The Broncos scored two more runs with a sacrifice fly in the fifth before Andrew Rayment homered in the sixth inning to make it 13-0.
- The Dons failed to score in the top of the seventh before the game was ended due to the run rule, as the Broncos secured the 13-0 victory.
- Three players tallied a base hit throughout the seven-inning contest as San Francisco finished with five hits.
- Cal Amborn pitched 2.2 innings out of the bullpen, his longest outing of the season, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out two batters.
- Rogers posted a hit for the fourth time in the last five games as he increased his season total to 21.
