Werth, Trawally Porta, and Ziaka Earn All-WCC Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference officially announced its season-ending awards for the 2024-25 women's basketball season on Tuesday morning.

For San Francisco, Freja Werth earned All-WCC First Team honors, marking the fifth straight season a member of the green and gold merited an All-Conference First Team selection. Additionally, Emma Trawally Porta earned an All-WCC Second Team selection, while Angeliki Ziaka made the All-Freshman Team.

Making the jump in her second season on the Hilltop and earning All-WCC First Team honors for the first time, Werth led the team and ranked third in the WCC, scoring 16.8 points per game. Earning the start in all 29 games, Werth totaled 23 double-digit scoring performances while reaching double figures in 11 straight contests from December 30 to February 1. Averaging 21.8 points per game in the final five regular-season contests, Werth guided the green and gold to wins over Gonzaga, Pacific, and San Diego while scoring a career-best 30 points in the victory over the Toreros on March 1. Her 30-point, 10-rebound double-double also marked the third time she has posted double-digit points and rebounds in a game this season.

Werth finished her career on the Hilltop as one of the best shooters in recent history, shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the three-point line in 59 games. In 2024-25, she shot over 40 percent from the arc 10 times, highlighted by a perfect four-for-four against Boise State at Chase Center on November 21. Her 119 made three-point field goals during her two-year career also ranks her in the top 10 in program history.

Joining the Dons as a graduate transfer following three seasons at Detroit Mercy, Trawally Porta immediately impacted the green and gold on both ends of the court. She helped guide the team with 16 double-digit scoring performances while ranking third in scoring at 10.9 points per game, 181 total rebounds, and led the program in blocks with 37. Within WCC play, Trawally Porta ranked fifth in blocks per game (1.3) while posting 25 total in 20 games.

Reaching the 20-point threshold three times, Trawally Porta scored a season-high 22 points in the win at Pepperdine on February 6. In the victory over the Waves, she connected on 56.3 percent of her shots, knocked down two three-pointers, and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Ziaka became crucial to San Francisco's success in 2024-25, appearing in 28 games with 12 starts and ranked fourth on the team, scoring 7.7 points per game. A spectacular passer and one of two freshmen in the WCC with over 90 assists, the two-time Heluva Good Dip West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week honoree registered 92 while averaging 3.3 per game, ranking 13th in the league. Her 1.6 assist/turnover ratio also ranked high among the league's best facilitators, ranking tied for fourth in the WCC.

A valuable scorer, Ziaka scored in double figures seven times, highlighted by a 22-point performance in the win over Saint Mary's on January 2. Nearly matching the single-game three-point program record, Ziaka knocked down six of her nine attempts from the three-point line while shooting 66.7 (eight-for-12) from the field. Ziaka continued to impress as she added 12 points in 28 minutes off the bench in the massive road win at Gonzaga on February 22, including connecting on a go-ahead three-pointer to help the green and gold to its first season sweep of the Bulldogs in 23 years.
