DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco enters its series at Pacific following an 11-8, extra-inning non-conference victory at Nevada on Monday, Apr. 14. With the game tied at eight, Eddison Esquivel put the Dons back on top in the 10th inning with a go-ahead three-run home run. Esquivel finished the afternoon three-for-six at the plate, a season-best five RBI, and scored two runs.
- TJ Rogers also excelled at the plate, leading the program with four hits in five at-bats, scoring two runs, and recording one RBI.
- As a team, the green and gold recorded one of its best offensive performances of the 2025 campaign, totaling a season-high 17 hits, posting double-digit runs for the ninth time, and recording the eighth-most RBI in a game with 10.
- Returning to WCC play, San Francisco suffered a series sweep to LMU last weekend at Benedetti Diamond. In the series finale on Sunday, Apr. 13, the Dons erased a five-run deficit, tying the game at six following a Zack Ramppen RBI sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. The Lions took charge in the top of the 11th, plating four runs to earn the 10-6 victory.
- Appearing in 35 games this season, Rogers leads the Dons offensively in multiple statistical categories, including batting average (.323), hits (40), doubles (10), RBI (31), walks (20), and stolen bases (11).
- Aidan Risse leads all qualified pitchers on the mound with a 4.24 earned-run average, allowing 22 runs in 46.2 innings pitched.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS:
- Hosting a WCC series for the first time since March 21-23 against Portland, Pacific enters the weekend in a tie for last place in the league standings at 2-7.
- The program has lost four of its last five contests, including the previous two to California Baptist on the road and CSU Bakersfield at home last Tuesday. In the loss to the Roadrunners, the Tigers failed to score in a game for the fifth time this season, dropping a 7-0 decision.
- Making an impressive jump offensively in 2025, Jake Tandy ranks first on the team and third in the WCC with a .368 batting average. Tandy also paces the program in hits (43), runs scored (21), slugging percentage (.513), and extra-base hits (11).
- Struggling on the mound this season, Pacific ranks seventh in the league with a 6.88 team earned-run average. Adan Perez leads all qualified throwers with a 5.63 ERA, allowing 29 runs in 46.1 innings pitched with a team-best 41 strikeouts.
