FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Highlighted by
Eva Pett earning a tie for first place and forcing a playoff, the University of San Francisco women's golf team placed fourth at the West Coast Conference Championship Saturday afternoon at Green Valley Country Club.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Pett led San Francisco throughout the tournament, posting a four-under-par 212 as she finished in a tie for first place on the individual leaderboard after 54 holes. Entering a playoff with Oregon State's Raya Nakao, Pett came up short on the second hole as Nakao won the individual title with a par putt. Pett shined on Par 5's, shooting seven-under-par to lead the field while posting a tournament-high 14 birdies.
- Riana Mission also earned a top-10 finish for the green and gold, tying for fifth place with a three-over-par 219. She totaled 10 birdies throughout the three-day event, tied for fourth most in the field, and recorded the lone eagle in the first round.
- Tying for 21st place at 12-over-par, Jolie Chee posted stellar numbers in the first round. Shooting a two-over-par 74 in the tournament's opening round, Chee totaled four birdies. She finished in a tie for first place on Par 3s, shooting three-under-par and averaging 2.75 strokes per hole.
- As a team, San Francisco led the six-team field with 46 birdies and shot one-under-par on Par 5s.
