SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (20-28, 7-14 WCC) begins its final homestand of the season when it hosts UC Davis (22-25) at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6 followed by a three-game series against Portland (20-24, 11-7 WCC) at Benedetti Diamond.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco begins the final stretch of the regular season after dropping a three-game series at San Diego last weekend. In a race for the final seed in the upcoming West Coast Conference Championship, the green and gold enter the week in sixth place in the league standings with a 7-14 record.
- Patrick Keighran led the Dons at the plate last week, batting .294 with five hits in 17 at-bats, three home runs, and seven RBI. In the 10-9 win at California on Tuesday, Apr. 29, Keighran totaled two home runs and recorded a career-best five RBI. He followed with a three-for-four performance at the plate in the series finale at San Diego on Sunday, May 4, posted his 10th long ball of the season, and added two more RBI.
- In 37 games played, Keighran leads the program in batting average (.328), doubles (13), home runs (10), RBI (42), slugging percentage (.664), and is a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases.
- In the win over California last Tuesday, Apr. 29, Eddison Esquivel and Brendan Burke also posted multi-hit performances, combining four hits, two RBI, and two runs scored.
- Kolby Calia earned the win on the mound, his fourth of the campaign, pitching the final three innings, allowing just two walks and striking out two batters.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES:
- UC Davis enters its second-to-last midweek contest on a two-game losing streak. Last weekend, the Aggies dropped the final two games of the three-game set at Long Beach State. The Aggies are currently in eighth place in the Big West Conference standings and are one of five programs with losing conference records at 9-15.
- Braydon Wooldridge, the lone qualified player batting over .300, leads the team with a .312 batting average. He also leads the team in hits (49), doubles (10), RBI (23), and slugging percentage (.414). Struggling at the plate as of late, Wooldridge is three for his last 21 and only batted .154 in the series loss at Long Beach State.
- On the mound, Bryan Green paces the Aggies with a 1.98 earned-run average, allowing 15 runs in a team-leading 68.1 innings. In the narrow 5-4 loss at Long Beach State last Sunday, Green pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just six hits and a walk.
SCOUTING THE PILOTS:
- Despite dropping the final game of its home series against Santa Clara, Portland enters the weekend with an 11-7 record and is in third place in the WCC standings. Before taking on the green and gold on the Hilltop, Portland faces off against No. 10 Oregon State in Corvallis on Wednesday, May 7.
- The Pilots won the first two games against the Broncos, battling back for a 10-9 11-inning victory in the series opener on Friday, May 1, and was followed by a 16-2 rout on Saturday, May 2. The Pilots finished the series outscoring the Broncos 27-16.
- Brady Bean leads Portland offensively, accumulating a .304 batting average while leading the team in hits (55), doubles (nine), RBI (37), and stolen bases (nine). He has posted 16 multi-hit performances throughout the season, highlighted by a four-for-five outing with five RBI in a 10-2 win over Utah Tech on March 2.
- Jonas Salk has given the Pilots power, leading the team and ranking tied for sixth in the WCC with 10 home runs. He is one of nine players in the WCC season with double-digit long balls.
- Curtis Hebert leads all qualified pitchers with a 3.72 earned-run average, while Ryan Rembisz and Kaden Segel rank first in wins with four. Rembisz, the Pilots' best strikeout pitcher, paces the program and is tied for ninth in the conference with 53 punchouts.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Since 2006, San Francisco has earned 17 wins in the last 29 games against UC Davis while winning six of the previous seven. Last time out against the Aggies this season, the Dons earned a narrow 2-1 victory on the road, with Keighran opening the scoring with a solo home run.
- San Francisco has dominated the all-time series against Portland since the 2006 season, posting a 33-21 record. The Pilots' however, have been successful in recent history, winning six of the last seven games, including a series sweep of the Dons last season in the Pacific Northwest.
