SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference officially announced on Monday afternoon that
Kaitlyn Sasadeusz, a junior forward for the University of San Francisco, has been named Offensive Player of the Week.
Coming alive for San Francisco this week,
Kaitlyn Sasadeusz put together two impressive performances on the offensive side of the ball. First, the junior netted her first goal of the year at California on Thursday, Aug. 21 despite a narrow 3-2 loss to the Golden Bears.
Just three days later, the forward got her first start of the fall on Sunday, Aug. 24 in USF's home opener. Sasadeusz would go on to be the star of the match in San Francisco's 2-0 upset victory over #18 Texas Tech at Negoesco Stadium as she opened the scoring with her first goal of the match in the 28th minute before following up with her second goal in the 80th minute. These two goals would prove all the Dons would need to outlast the Red Raiders.
Notably, the performance marked Sasadeusz' second career brace. Overall, Sasadeusz has now tied her season total in goals from last year (3) through just three matches so far this fall.
For San Francisco, this award marks the first Player of the Week honors this season.
