SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco (USF) women's soccer team (1-5-2, 0-1 WCC) controlled most of the first half at home on Wednesday night, but the Dons ultimately fell to LMU (4-2-1, 1-0 WCC), 1-0, at Negoesco Stadium.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco took charge of the match in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting LMU 9-3 in the first half. Kaitlyn Sasadeusz fired the first shot of the night for the Dons, also her first on frame just 2:19 into regulation.
- Neither side would be able to find the back of the net in the opening half, with the match tied at 0-0 heading into the locker room.
- Kylie Dobbs broke the scoreless drought by firing her first goal of the year past the USF defense at 47:03. This goal would prove to be the game-winner.
- San Francisco went on to outshoot the Lions once more in the second half, 11-7, but the green and gold could not find the counter punch they needed to even the match. Following a close call from Olivia Lukrofka with 43 seconds remaining, LMU held on late to secure the victory, 1-0.
