
Dons Complete Second Day of Invites

AZUSA, Calif. -- Senior Robert Parker highlighted the action at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday in Azusa, Calif.
Parker placed fifth in the javelin with a distance of 60.22 meters. That distance surpassed his pervious school record set last season of 59.20 m. Senior Cameron Farrell also placed 26th with a throw of 48.62 m.
Adrian Shocks surpassed his personal best in the long jump with a distance of 6.70 m, good enough for 32nd place. In the triple jump, Shocks nearly surpassed his personal best of 14.50 m. He placed eighth with a jump of 14.49 m.
On the women's side, in the 100 m dash, Asaundra Dalton finished 26th with a time of 12.33.
Dalton placed 18th in the 200 m dash with a time of 24.93. Lupe Medina placed 69th in 26.07, a new season best and nearly surpassing her personal best of 26.00. Skylark Fenton placed 71st in 26.16, a new personal best.
The Dons also competed in the Mt. Sac Invitational in Pomona, Calif.
On the men's side, senior Jose Madera placed eighth in the 5,000 m with a time of 14:11.86, a new season best.
In the 1,500 m, Sean Gomes placed 36th with a time of 3:51.79. Nick Hicks placed 59th with a time of 3:57.57, while teammate Omar Solis placed 60th in 3:58.02.
On the women's side, in the 5,000 m, Jana Soethout placed 22nd with a time of 17:02.36.
Junior Elena Burkard set a new season best in the 1,500 m with a time of 4:22.47, good enough for sixth place.
