SAN FRANCISCO –
The University of San Francisco men's basketball team continues its busiest stretch of the season, playing the second game of five game in an eight-day stretch.  The Dons make the short trip down the peninsula to take on Pac-12 foe Stanford on Sunday afternoon at Maples Pavilion on a game that will be televised nationwide on ESPNU.

The Dons are currently riding a three-game winning streak after defeating UC Davis 74-61.  It was the largest defeat the Aggies have suffered on the year.  The Dons shot a season-high 51.0 percent from the field going 26-for-51.  Four players finished in double figures and was led by Frankie Ferrari's career-high 19 points.

Sunday's contest is just the second time this season the Dons have played away from the friendly confines of War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.  In a strange twist of the schedule, the last time the Dons were on the road was on Dec. 2 against another Pac-12 opponent, Arizona State.  In that contest, the Dons fell to the Sun Devils 75-57.

ABOUT THE DONS
  • The Dons have outrebounded their opponent in all but one contest this season, a big reason for USF's lofty ranking in the national rebounding numbers.USF is currently 68th in the nation, averaging 39.2 rebounds per contest. However, the Dons are just one of eight teams without a rebounder in the top-250 in the country individually.
  • Over the last three games the Dons are averaging 77.7 points per contest, and shooting 42.3 percent from the field. On the year, USF is averaging 72.8 points per game and shooting 40.3 percent from the field.
  • Junior Matt McCarthy is on a tear for the Dons. He has posted back-to-back contests with double digits in points and seven rebounds in each contest. Against the Aggies she scored 12 points with seven boards in 28 minutes of action.
  • USF is nine games into the season and does not have a player with a double-double. Last season, the Dons had two in the first three games.
  • When the Dons square off against Stanford on Sunday it will mark the 226th time that USF has played a member of the current Pac-12. All-time, the Dons are 83-137 against teams from the Pac-12 conference. USF boats winning records against Arizona (4-1 all-time) and Utah (8-4 all-time).
SERIES VERSUS THE CARDINAL
The Dons and Cardinal have a long history that dates back to the 1913-14 season.  The first time the two teams tangled, Stanford came out on top in a thrilling 22-20 win.  Since then the two teams have played some higher scoring games.  The last time they squared off was on Nov. 9, 2012 when the Dons fell to the Cardinal 74-62 at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
