THE RUNDOWN
Berkeley, Calif. - The university of San Francisco's track and field team finished day one across the Bay at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge, accomplishing their goal for the meet, posting qualifying times.
Â
Competing in their first outdoor meet of the season, both
Charlotte Taylor and
Weronika Pyzik posted NCAA qualifying times in the 10,000-meters. In the only heat for the 10,000m, Taylor and Pyzik would be in a race against themselves as they were the only two runners competing in their event.
Â
Pyzik would post the faster of the two times with her mark of 34:03.23. For Taylor, the reigning national champion in the 10,000m, would finish just behind her teammate with a time of 34:10.23.
Â
USF will return to the East Bay tomorrow for day two of the Brutus Hamilton Challenge. They will look for a repeat of today's performances and post NCAA qualifying times.

COACHES QUOTES
Head coach Helen Lehman-Winters
On the performance from Taylor and Pyzik
"We accomplished what we needed to this evening. This was essentially a quality workout for Charlotte and Weronika as they ran solo in a very controlled effort. Both marks should be good enough to qualify for the NCAA West Region Championships and we will continue to prepare for May."
