SAN FRANCISCO – The latest episode of USF's cable television show, "Behind the Mask," airs today at 10:30 p.m. on NBC Sports California with a reairing on Thursday, May 31 at 5:30 p.m.
In this episode we will take a look back at USF baseball's trip to the West Coast Conference Tournament, pitcher
Thomas Ponticelli, and
Jack Rowe from our men's track and field program. We will also have a special look back at Yasiel Puig's visit to Benedetti Diamond.
The seniors from the baseball team came into the 2018 season with a goal to cement their culture into future classes on the Hilltop. The season came to a close this past weekend at the WCC Tournament in Stockton, Calif., and those seniors previewed what it means to them and the team to have made it to the post season tournament.
In our first feature we will take a look at the leader of the Diamond Dons pitching staff,
Thomas Ponticelli. The life of a pitcher can be a lonely one, but hear from the junior from Newbury Park, Calif., and how he has stepped into the role of Friday started, and leader in the dugout.
The next player feature highlights a newcomer to the men's cross country and track & field program,
Jack Rowe. Coming from the United Kingdom, his first year at USF has shown the amount of work needed to compete in the tough West Region.
Finally, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Yasiel Puig paid a visit to USF's Benedetti Diamond to shoot a commercial for Beats by Dre. Take a behind the scenes look at what went into the shooting of that commercial.
As always, the episode will conclude with "
Playmakers," highlighting top team and individual performances from USF athletes. Here, you'll see the best of the best highlights from Dons spring season's on the diamond and the track.
Along with tonight's debut at 10:30 p.m., the episode reairs multiple times in the coming days – Thursday at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday at 6:30 a.m., as well as Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
