SAN FRANCISCO — A two-sport star and all-state volleyball player with pages of accolades on the court and in the classroom will join the University of San Francisco volleyball program in the spring of 2020, as head coach
Frank Lavrisha announced the signing of Hannah Kinnison out of Sligo, Colo., and Prairie High School, to a National Letter of Intent.
Â

"We are excited to welcome Hannah to USF." said Lavrisha. "She brings an outstanding work ethic and competes hard. Hannah's life experiences will contribute immensely to building the Dons' winning culture."
Â
Kinnison hails from small-town northeast Colorado, where she grew up on her family's ranch. But Kinnison's superior athleticism has far outsized her small-town upbringing.
Â
In just two seasons with the Mustangs, she collected 789 kills with a .263 hitting percentage, 160 digs, 64 service aces and 37 total blocks. She helped lead Prairie High School to the Colorado High School Activities Association Final Four as a freshman in 2016 and was named all-league and second team all-state. A year later, she again earned all-league honors while also grabbing the league's Most Valuable Player award as a sophomore. Including her CHSAA all-state honorable mention accolade, she earned two all-league awards, two all-state honors and an MVP plaque in just two years of high school volleyball.
Â
Kinnison helped lead her club team to a silver bracket championship at the 2019 Junior Volleyball Association World Challenge. She's also been a USA Volleyball High Performance participant for three years (2016, '17, '18) and was part of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Phenom Program in 2017. She was named all-league in her only season of high school basketball as a sophomore.
Â

Kinnison brings to The Hilltop a bevy of off-court extra-curricular accomplishments. She has been a National Honors Society member since 2018, carrying a perfect 4.00 Grade Point Average while ranking No. 1 in her class at Pioneer High School. Twice she was a part of PHS' Colorado state "Knowledge Bowl" team, where they earned top-three finishes both times. She placed third in the prestigious Nell Propst Northeast Colorado Local History Essay Contest, earning a college scholarship as a prize. She has participated in Future Farmers of America and Future Business Leaders of America clubs throughout high school.
Â
Horse riding is also a big part of Kinnison's life when she's not on the court or in the classroom. She was an American Quarter Horse Association World Show qualifier in 2016, and was a Reserve State Champion competing in Ranch Horse Level Four, the highest level of riding in that class.
Â
Kinnison joins a USF volleyball recruiting class for 2020 that also includes National Letter of Intent signee Laurie McGrath from Hilo, Hawaii, and graduate transfer Lauren Speckman out of Marquette University.
