VB | Dons Add Dynamic Outside Hitter for 2021

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's volleyball team has added outside hitter Shyia Richardson for the fall of 2021.  Richardson gives the Dons an athletic option on the outside who brings a winning mentality.

The four-time letter winner for head coach Shannon McClellan and Clear Springs High School earned Newcomer of the Year in 2017.  The awards didn't stop there. She is a four-time First Team All-District honoree, she was named to the Prep Volleyball watch list all four years and was named to the AVCA Under Armour Phenom List all four years.  She earned All-6A Texas State team honors four times and was the Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019. 
 
In four years playing for Clear Springs, she amassed 1,601 kills, 1,436 digs, with 169 service aces.  As a junior, she tallied 502 kills with 421 digs and 72 aces. More importantly, she helped guide the Chargers to a 98-49 record, including four post season appearances and one district title.
