SAN FRANCISCO – In three short years, University of San Francisco women's volleyball player
Valeria Alegrias Cambindo has moved over 4,000 miles – leaving her hometown of Cali, Colombia for Miami-Dade, Fla., and then leaving the sunshine state in favor of San Francisco.
In this episode of Dons From Distance, Director of Creative Video,
Katie Morgan sits down with the Dons' senior. The Dons' powerful outside hitter discusses helping build the program, the support she receives from her family, and her own personal mantra. The two discuss her run at Miami Dade College, where she helped her squad go to back-to-back NJCAA National Championship appearances, winning a title in 2017.
Cambindo goes on to mention how the transition from Cali, Colombia to San Francisco has been made possible thanks to the support from her family back home and from her newest family – her Dons teammates.
