SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team has signed another talented player with Division I experience, adding 5-foot, 7-inch guard Jasmine Gayles, who signed a scholarship agreement to attend USF in the fall.

Gayles is a two-time letter winner for Northern Colorado. The Seattle, Wash., native played in 50 games for the Bears, making 47 starts, where she logged over 1300 career minutes and averaged 27.9 minutes per contest and 9.5 points per game.

During her time at Northern Colorado, she shot 36.4 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from beyond the arc while also grabbing she 4.1 rebounds per contest. Her sophomore year was her best, finishing with career-high marks in points per game (11.9), field goal percentage (40.1), 3-point field goal percentage (40.9), and rebounds per contest (4.4).

"Jasmine is an experienced player who will bring immediate depth to our guard position," said head coach Molly Goodenbour. "She is hard-working, tough, competitive, and finds ways to get things done at the right time out on the court. Jasmine was a key player at UNC and we are counting on her to come in and make a great transition to our program. She will be a valuable asset for us on and off the court. We are looking forward to getting her on campus."

Gayles was a highly decorated player in high school. A two-sport varsity athlete, she lettered in soccer and basketball for West Seattle High School. On the hardwood, she was named team captain three times and led her team to two district titles and a fourth-place finish in the state championship in her junior season. She guided West Seattle to sixth-place state finish as a senior.

She was a three-time all-league honoree in high school and was twice named to the All-State tournament team. She was named the West Seattle Player of the Year in 2017.

Gayles joins an incoming class that boasts 6'0" forward Debora Reis,  6'2" power forward Claudia Langarita from Spain,  6'4" forward Lorena Anunciacao from Brazil, 6'0" wing Kennedy Dickie from Eastern Washington, and 5'9" guard Aya Kéita from Hungary.
