SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Dons sophomore middle infielder
Luke Keaschall has been selected to Perfect Game's All-WCC preseason team after his stellar debut season of the Hilltop where he was also named the WCC co-freshman of the year and was selected as a member of the First-Team All-WCC.
Playing in 53 games last season, Keaschall hit .320 with four home runs and 30 RBI hitting at the top of the USF batting order and causing havoc for opposing teams. Luke led the Dons in numerous other offensive categories including hits (64), triples (4), on-base percentage (.406), and hit by pitches (13).
The Watsonville, Calif. native was the only Don selected for this list and has been racking up the accolades leading into his sophomore campaign, as he was most recently
ranked as the No. 31 2023 MLB Draft prospect by D1Baseball.
Keaschall and the Dons baseball team are quickly approaching the start of their season, with opening day at Benedetti Diamond scheduled for Friday Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. That will be the first of a three game weekend home series to begin the Dons' season.
