BOUNCING BACK:
  • USF had a few standout individual performances over the weekend on the mound and in the batter's box but couldn't put it all together for one game as they dropped all four played in the desert.
  • At the plate, the Dons have four hitters with on base percentages at .400 or higher in Jordan Vujovich, Gabe Giosso, Luke Keaschall and Michael Campagna have all done a tremendous job of getting on base to put pressure on the opposing team's pitching staff and defense.
  • On the mound, Stevenson will be making his fifth start of the season after allowing three runs in 4 1/3 innings pitched against ASU in his last time out. Owen still currently leads the Dons' staff with a 2.21 ERA and has posted a microscopic 0.98 walks and hits per innings pitched.
  • Tuesday's game will be a final non conference tune up before the Dons embark on their conference schedule for every weekend the rest of the season, starting this weekend as the Dons will welcome the Santa Clara Broncos to the Hilltop.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS:
  • Sacramento State will be playing just their second road game of the month on Tuesday as they've faced Houston Baptist, Saint Mary's and Dixie State in the last two weeks on their home diamond.
  • Sophomore infielder Jorge Bojorquez has been a tremendous spark at the top of the Hornet batting order as he's hitting .339 with a sky high .431 on base percentage.
  • In the middle of the batting order, outfielder Cesar Valero has been providing the power with an impressive .609 slugging percentage thanks to eight extra base he has this season.
  • Out of the bullpen, junior right-handed pitcher Jack Zalasky has been nails for his team through the early part of the season with a microscopic 0.64 ERA in five games pitched.
