Dons Can't Get it Going in Loss to Wolfpack

Nevada got their offense going early by scoring four times in the third and five times in the fourth inning as they built their lead in the middle innings. USF got their offensive spark later in the ballgame as Tyler Martinez recorded his first hit of the season, and Zach Griffin followed that up with his first Division I home run with a two-run blast over the wall in left field.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- The first two innings of play were quiet as both teams weren't able to get on the board.
- Nevada got things going in the top of the third as they plated four runs to take the early 4-0 lead.
- The Wolfpack went on to score multiple runs in all of the remaining innings with five in the fifth, three in the sixth inning and then two if the remaining four innings of play on Tuesday.
- USF got their only two runs of the game on Griffin's two-run blast over the wall in left as the Wolfpack went on to pick up the win on the road.
- Griffin had the highlight of the afternoon with his first hit, home run and RBI of the season that scored Martinez and got the Dons on the scoreboard.
- Martinez also collected his first hit as he came on to pinch hit in what ended up being a 1-for-2 afternoon at the plate.
- Outfielder Harris Williams IIII collected a pair of hits as he went 2-for-2 against Nevada on Tuesday.
The Dons now will get back out on the road for the first of a three game conference set with the Portland Pilots (14-5, 2-1) beginning on Friday evening. First pitch will be at 6:00 p.m. live streaming and live statistics will be available via the team's schedule page.
