DONS AT A GLANCE:
- USF's resurgence to begin the year has been a welcome sign for everyone on the Hilltop as many new faces have performed at a high level to begin their Dons careers. Notably, graduate student Claire Crijns has been leading the way on offense for USF with a time high 81.5 points to go along with 64 kills to anchor the Dons right side on both sides of the ball. For these efforts, Crijns was named the MVP of the Fresno State Invitational last weekend.
- In her second season on the Hilltop, sophomore outside hitter Shyia Richardson has picked up right where she left off as the outside hitter currently leads USF with 67 kills while ranking second in total points and points per set.
- Defensively, freshman libero Abby Wadas has stepped right in and provided an instant impact for USF on defense as she leads the team with 77 digs, which includes double digit digs in four of her six matches.
SCOUTING THE MATADORS:
- CSUN has gotten off to a slow start to begin their season as the Matadors have posted a 1-5 overall record and have yet to play a game on their home floor. Notably, CSUN defeated Texas A&M - Commerce for their lone victory of the season.
- The Dons will have their hands full attempting to limit the Matadors' senior outside hitter Nicole Nevarez, who has a team-high 91.5 points and 73 kills so far this season.
- Defensively, CSUN's freshman libero Breanna Mitchell has been a huge piece of the Matador defense as she leads her team with 90 digs and 4.29 digs per set.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS:
- The Quakers have played just three matches so far this season as they competed as the Rose Hill Classic in the Bronx. In the tournament, Penn was able to defeat Farleigh Dickinson despite falling short against Niagra and Fordham.
- Penn's junior outside hitter Madison Risch has been the focal point of her team's offense this season as she leads the Quakers with 48 points and 41 kills this season.
- Freshman libero Abigail Reid has been a key piece in her team's defensive identity as she leads her team with 55 digs to go along with five digs per set.
