BERKELEY, Calif. – Returning to the road to begin another week of action, the USF Dons baseball team (14-18, 5-10) couldn't get it going on Tuesday evening as they battled East Bay foe the California Golden Bears (17-16, 5-13) in a game that ended in a 17-3 final score from Evans Diamond.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- The Dons got off to a fast start on Tuesday evening as Mario DeMera led off the game with a single and Blake Atkins followed with a base knock off his own. Michael Campagna was able to come through for his team with an RBI single to left field that scored DeMera to put the Dons on the board, while Harris Williams III followed with an RBI single of his own to make it 2-0 USF. With two down in the inning, Patrick Keighran came up clutch with a two-out single to score Campagna as the Dons led 3-0 early.
- Cal would respond by scoring the next 17 runs of the game as they put up a five-spot in the bottom of the first, added another run in the third and scored 11 runs in their bottom of the fifth to take a 17-3 lead as they went on to get the win on Tuesday.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Campagna had a nice evening serving as the team's DH on Tuesday as he went 2-for-3 with a walk, RBI and a run scored against the Golden Bears.
- Keighran had a second consecutive strong performance at the dish going 2-for-3 with an RBI while manning third base for USF.
- On the mound, Matt McConnell and AC Cabrera each had strong appearances against Cal combining to throw three innings with only one run allowed to go along with a trio of strikeouts.

The Dons will now head south for another weekend of WCC action as they will play three games against the San Diego Toreros (15-18-1, 8-7) starting at 6:00 p.m. from Fowler Park on Friday, April 21. Live streaming and live statistics for the contest are available via the
