Five Dons Earn WCC All-Conference Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Following a successful 2025 regular season, five players from the University of San Francisco baseball team, Patrick Keighran, TJ Rogers, Eddison Esquivel, Lance Santerre, and Aidan Risse earned West Coast Conference All-Conference recognition, announced by the league Tuesday morning.

"This program prides itself on being great both on and off the field," Head Coach Rob DiToma said. "These players are a testament to that; their hard work, energy, and effort on the field and in the classroom defines what a student-athlete should be about."

For San Francisco, Keighran was named to the All-WCC First Team, Rogers was named to the All-WCC Second Team, Risse and Santerre were selected as All-WCC Honorable Mentions, and Esquivel earned an honorable mention nod while also earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

Earning an All-WCC First Team selection for the first time in his career, Keighran broke out in 2025, setting career highs in multiple statistical categories. Dominating at the plate in 44 appearances during the season, Keighran posted a team-leading .355 batting average with 54 hits in 152 at-bats, 14 doubles, 12 home runs, slugged .684, 48 RBI, and was a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen-base attempts. Continuing his success in 16 league contests, the senior from Burlingame, Calif., and two-time Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week ranked third in the conference in batting average (.421) and on-base percentage (.507), second in slugging percentage (.789), and first in OPS (1.296).

Rogers also guided the green and gold offensively during the campaign, accumulating a .313 batting average, and led the program in hits with 57 base hits, 15 doubles, and 42 runs scored. Ranking second on the team in multi-hit performances with 15, Rogers was the lone player to record four hits in a game, totaling two, in wins over Nevada and Pepperdine. The Sparks, Nev., native, in three seasons with the program, appeared in 99 games, earning the start in 97, accumulated a stellar .304 batting average, 103 hits, 27 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 66 RBI, and scored 73 runs.

Recording incredible numbers in his first collegiate baseball season on the Hilltop, Esquivel totaled six multi-hit performances in the final eight contests and batted .438 with 14 hits in 32 at-bats, two doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI, and scored seven runs. Overall, he ranked second on the team with a .319 batting average, second among all freshmen in the WCC. His 47 RBI is second on the team and ninth in the WCC, while his team-leading 12 home runs rank eighth best in the conference. He also earned three Rawlings West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week honors, the most of any first-year player in the WCC.

Esquivel making the WCC All-Freshman Team marks the fifth-straight season where the Dons have had an individual make the prestigious list.

Risse and Santerre paced San Francisco on the mound throughout the season, leading the Dons on the defensive front. Risse guided the team with a 4.72 earned-run average, the fifth lowest in the WCC. He also totaled 58 strikeouts in 68.2 innings pitched. In 14 appearances, Risse recorded a season-high six strikeouts four times, including in the final game of the regular season in his first relief appearance out of the bullpen, allowing one run on two hits in four solid innings to secure the series sweep against Utah Valley.

Santerre improved throughout the season and had success during league play. In eight WCC contests, Santerre posted a 2-2 record while leading the team and ranking sixth in the WCC with a 3.99 earned-run average. Overall, in 14 appearances, the Gridley, Calif., native recorded a career-best 4.28 earned-run average, allowing 26 runs in 54.2 innings pitched and totaling 38 strikeouts. In three seasons with the program, Santerre accumulated 142 strikeouts, the most on the team, and earned one save.
