SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (5-3) dropped a 16-2 nonconference decision to California Baptist (8-2) in the series opener Thursday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Trailing 7-0, San Francisco scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning as Eddison Esquivel came across to score on a Wyatt Davis double.
- After California Baptist added a run in the following frame, TJ Rogers recorded a solo home run off the left-field netting to get the green and gold within 8-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- The Lancers scored eight unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings to solidify the 16-2 victory.Â
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- San Francisco pitchers faced 53 hitters in the game, allowing eight ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out six.
- Rogers led the Dons at the plate, going one-for-three with a home run, his third of the season.
- Davis recorded an RBI with a double in the fourth inning. He is currently tied for the team lead in RBI with seven through eight games.Â
