SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (6-5) fell to California Baptist (10-3) in a low-scoring 2-1 loss in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco scored the game's opening run on a Brendan Burke solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to give the Dons a 1-0 advantage.
- California Baptist rallied in the third and fourth innings, scoring two runs to take a 2-1 lead. The Lancers held the Dons scoreless in the final five frames to earn the win and secure the series.Â
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Adrian Valdez earned the start on the mound and went five innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on three hits, allowing one walk and striking out five.
- Quentin Pohorski was a bright spot for the Dons, coming out of the bullpen and throwing three shutout innings, allowing one hit, with two walks and three strikeouts.
- Burke recorded his third career home run, his first of the season, and went one-for-four at the plate to lead the green and gold offensively.
- As a team, the Dons outhit the Lancers for the first time this series, accumulating five throughout the contest. Five different players recorded a base hit, with Burke registering the lone extra-base knock.Â
