RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (8-8) opened its three-game road series with a 7-3 loss at UC Riverside (5-13) Friday afternoon at the Riverside Sports Complex.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- UC Riverside opened the scoring in the second inning and built a 5-0 advantage through four innings of play.
- San Francisco trimmed its deficit in the top of the fifth inning when Zach Nagy recorded an infield single, scoring Jayden Garison to get within 5-1. Jared Lewis plated two runs later on with a double to left-center field to cut the Highlanders' lead to 5-3.
- The Highlanders added two insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings and held the green and gold scoreless in the final two frames to solidify the victory.
- Lewis recorded his first multi-hit game for the green and gold this season, going two-for-four at the plate with a double and two RBI.
- TJ Rogers also added two base hits throughout the contest, highlighted by a double to left field in the top of the eighth inning.
- Despite the loss, Gabriel Barrett pitched four innings and struck out five batters, his fourth outing of at least five strikeouts this season.
